Rays of Hope: A Bright Summer for a Resident Mom and her Son
We love celebrating BIG milestones here at MP, especially when it involves our families achieving their goals and embarking on exciting next steps in their journey. So we’re thrilled to share that one of our resident families, Emilia and her five-year-old son, is moving on to market-rate permanent housing! Hear from Emilia about the profound impact MP has had on her and her son’s life below:
“Marguerite’s Place isn’t just a program to help families in need, it’s a family of many caring and compassionate individuals. They welcomed my son and I with open arms and provided the stability and support that we needed.
During my stay at Marguerite’s Place I have secured a better paying job, enrolled and began college courses pursuing a BA in creative writing and English while achieving the President’s List my first term. I’ve also managed to secure permanent housing for my family all with the encouragement and support from the MP family.“
Family Empowerment Series: Financial Wellness
At Marguerite’s Place, our weekly Family Empowerment Nights connect families across our programs and help them to build skills for success.
This summer, we started our financial wellness series with Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Nashua.
Topics include: Basic Banking, Budgeting, Credit, Consumer Awareness, Employability Skills, Entrepreneurship and more!
Exciting Updates in our Classrooms!
We’ve recently implemented the Pyramid Model in all of our childcare classrooms. This framework enhances children’s social and emotional growth through proven methods, nurturing self-confidence, social skills, and problem-solving.
The Pyramid Model workgroup (which includes parents, staff and specialists) is excited to incorporate this program to help empower kiddos and families to thrive in both school and life.
Thank you!
A big thank you to Patrick Foley, owner of Refinished Bath Solutions, for donating his services to refinish tubs and showers in our Palm Street apartments!
By donating time and expertise, supporters like Patrick help us ensure each resident family moves into a safe, welcoming space that promotes dignity and healing and feels like home.

From our Executive Director
The dog days of summer are here! Despite the cycle of relentless rain and stifling heat we’ve experienced thus far, summer is still my favorite season at Marguerite’s Place. In summer, our playground is filled with shrieks of joy as our preschoolers’ water play turns into everyone getting soaked. Our evening programming migrates outdoors, with family dinner and meaningful conversation on our shady deck. One new transitional housing resident takes advantage of both the warm weather and her newfound stability with evening walks with her toddler in the stroller before bedtime.
We often think of summer as a “slower” season, but at Marguerite’s Place, summer is our most vibrant, with more time to connect and enjoy the simplicity of our community together.
Wishing you a relaxing, joyful rest of your summer!
