Celebrating Heartwarming Holidays at Marguerite’s Place

What makes the holidays so heartwarming at Marguerite’s Place?

YOU!

At Marguerite’s Place, we’re constantly reminded of how deeply we’re cared for by this incredible community, but during the holidays, your outpouring of love and generosity leaves us truly humbled and filled with joy. You make this time of year magical for both the staff and the families we serve, and we’re so, so grateful!

For us, the holiday magic begins with the annual visit from Nashua Pickleball Club’s Operation Warm and Fuzzy. For five years they have donated an abundance of brand-new winter coats, gloves, clothing, and pajamas for our families before the cold weather sets in. It is an event that our families, staff and their club members look forward to every year!

Joanne, a new club member shared, “After our trips to Marguerite’s Place and Catie’s Closet, we all walked away feeling good. In my life, I have had the privilege and good luck to never have gone without a warm jacket, hat, mittens, and boots in the winter. I suspect that most of us pickleballers are the same. It’s a dose of reality to realize all of the people in our own community who struggle every day just to meet basic needs for themselves and their children. And it is a warm and fuzzy feeling to realize that the donations from this drive have a real impact on real people.”

Our Holiday Sponsors then take the baton, empowering moms with gift cards so they can shop for the items their children need and want most. This thoughtful support allows families to create special holiday moments while also saving for future milestones like birthdays and graduations. And many of our sponsors include extra grocery and gas cards to help offset the rising cost of goods this time of year, while the Congregational Church of Hollis collects large food baskets, ensuring our families can gather around their tables with full plates this season.

The holiday cheer continues with Tactical Christmas, where Nashua PAL and the Nashua Police Department make a surprise visit—Santa included—arriving in a SWAT vehicle! The excitement on the kids’ faces is priceless – a core memory for all!

One of our favorite traditions is the annual wrapping party we host for our moms (Resident, Childcare and Graduate) as part of Community Programming. This special event brings them together to wrap gifts while their children create holiday crafts and enjoy festive desserts next door. It’s a moment of connection and joy, surrounded by the love of our entire Marguerite’s Place family.

As we reflect on all these moments, what truly lifts our spirits is the overwhelming generosity of our neighbors. Your kindness brings warmth to even the coldest of days and reminds us of the power of community.

Thank you for making the holidays unforgettable. Together, we’re closing out the year with hearts full of gratitude and hope for all that is to come in 2025.
